Ladies and Gentlemen of the Forum, after a decidedly German Flavour on the forum for the last few months I would like to share this Vickers P 1907 with you.

Fresh from the auction and in surprisingly good nick.

Other examples for comparison would be most welcome .

Thanks and Kindest Regards,

Richard.

Hello Richard,

Yes, time for a different flavor of the month.

Nice looking Vickers, and has the somewhat indistinct inspection stamps that mine (11 ‘18) also shows.

One grip of yours, at least, also bears an inspection stamp but mine does not.

Regards,

JMB

Edit: I forgot to mention the spear-shaped fullers on yours that are also present on mine.

Looks like their machining was in the groove.

Never managed to find one of these after years of looking... :( But this looks a good'un!

PS: "German Flavour"? Wekll, there were over 10 basic types used in ww1 so more to talk about! So, don't get me started on the 42 or more varieties of purpose-made Ersatz...

Sorry richard, haven't got one to compare, but looks to be a very nice honest example.

Well done, and thanks for posting it.

Dave.

Richard,

For comparison, my 11 '18 Vickers posted almost 3 years ago.

JMB
