If the closed records are also children then that would make 7. If you can confirm this gives the forum members more to get their teeth into This John is a nightwatchman. Seen other sources suggesting this man was born one day earlier on 1/1/1895 The mother's maiden name appears to be Price. This has made me very happy and I truly truly thank you. All of the information here is right with regards to John p. I knew him as Jack and Derek was the one who died at sea working for the White Star line. A big thank you yet again
Mark1959 Posted 4 February , 2019 Share Posted 4 February , 2019 Ok. The other children appear to be Brian and Lawrence (from your message). The last may be George (birth registered 1929) . All the births registered in the Bromley District with mother's maiden name Price. The only ones that match that criteria

Admin Michelle Young Posted 4 February , 2019 Admin Share Posted 4 February , 2019 If I've read this correctly, your grandfather was a night watchman. Andrew Bamji in his book states that many men with facial disfigurement worked in jobs where they wouldn't have to be seen by too many people, one was a cinema projectionist, other men were night watchmen Michelle

clk Posted 6 February , 2019 Share Posted 6 February , 2019 (edited) Hi John, I didn't progress it further, to look at Cheshire Regiment men with near number surviving service records that 'bracket' his at the top end, but at the lower end what I did see was... 59043 Hudson; 59045 Foulkes; 59059 Hodkinson; 59066 Gibney; and 59078 Ridgway all appear to have been mobilised from the Army Reserve on 6th/7th November 1916, before being initially posted to the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion on the 7th/8th November 1916 - though subsequently following different service paths.
