michaeldr Posted 1 February , 2019 Share Posted 1 February , 2019 (edited) The local WWI history society held their annual conference yesterday and as well as a coach tour along part of the route of the first hours of the Megiddo advance, and the fascinating lectures, the members attending also had the chance to purchase a limited edition (150) souvenir sheet produced jointly with the Israel Post Company, celebrating the end of the Great War in this theatre. Affixed to the Centenary Souvenir card are examples of the 4 stamps issued over the last four years and the central franking mark, which covers a corner of each of the stamps, relates to 11th November 2018 and the official British commemoration service held at Ramleh CWGC Cemetery. Congratulations to our chairman (Eran Tearosh of this forum) to the society's committee, and to the Philatelic Service of the Israel Post Company for their foresight in producing such an attractive commemorative item.
