Guest Posted 29 January , 2019 Share Posted 29 January , 2019 This is a photograph of my Great Uncle John Arthurs.He survived the Great war.But is a bit of a family enigma,as there is a story that he was in 2 different regiments.So can to begin with identify this uniform he is wearing and is it possible to say what the year of issue. Wardog Posted 29 January , 2019 Share Posted 29 January , 2019 (edited) Looks to be a 1905 Service Dress type cap which became less common as the war went on- may also have an early chinstrap which used sliding loops rather than buckles to adjust- very similar to the officer type.
