Good Afternoon Everyone......

 

I am trying to find out anything I can about the following:

 

5243 Private F. Barclay, Royal Munster Fusiliers

 

Using the limited access which is not much that I have.....    

I am trying to find any information that I can about the above named soldier......

I have very little info......

 

Looking for Place and Date of Birth, Casualty or Date of Death if Possible, Previous Service if Any, Medal Entitlement...…

Frederick Barclay  7th Regt

entitled 15 star trio served theatre 2B Balkans qualifying date 10.7.1915 noted as class Z so ended service to reserve.  A.R 23.5.1919

just throwing an idea in that being Munster is in Ireland, 3 possibilities born there   , obviously may not be of any use. but did only serve with the Munsters

Frederick. Discharged 25/3/19. Received a pension for “Rheumatism and Bronchitis” attributable to service starting the next day. 20% disability. Address for pension was 168 Donegall Street, Belfast. He was single at the time. 

6 and 7 RMF left Liverpool 9/7/15 and landed Suvla Bay Gallipoli 7/8/15 (LLT).

There is a service record on FmP - click - which shows him enlisting in R Irish Rifles  on 10 Sep 1914 and being discharged 3 Oct 1914

 

1. He claims to be time expired 1st Scots Gauards

2. Aged 33 years and 3 months on enlistment

3. Born Schotts, Lanarkshire

4. Next of kin - father Andrew, living at 168 Donegal Place, Belfast

5. 28 Sep 1914 Found drunk and reduced to Rifleman from Sgt

6. Discharged under 392 (IIIc) . Recruit within three months of enlistment considered unfit for service.

1. Enlisted 13 Feb 1897 at Hamilton

2. Discharged 12 Feb 1913 at London

3. Queens SA Medals with 5 clasps and Kings SA Medal with 2 clasps

4. Had previously been In Inniskilling Fusiliers from who he had bought himself out for £10

5. His father is given as Andrew Barclay of Ballysudden, Tyrone
