bern28x Posted 16 January , 2019 Share Posted 16 January , 2019 Apologies if this is in the wrong section. I recently visited Folkestone Harbour Station and saw the "short step" memorial at the top of the slope leading down to the harbour area, quite an evocative area to think this was for many the last sight of blighty. My question is, was Folkestone the only departure port for the war in France or were other channel ports also used? Also were the lads embarked using the existing channel ferry facilities and jetties or maybe ferried out into the harbour to ships at anchor? As always TIA Bern
