The Perthshire Advertiser from 19th May, 1915 notifies that Alex. Bell from Comrie is one of several men from the village at the Front.

The Perthshire Advertiser from 25th December, 1915 reports that A. Bell son of Mr William Bell, Middleton Farm, Comrie has been wounded and as a result has had a leg amputated (Report also appears in the Strathearn Herald and Dundee Courier)

The 1911 census provides the Bell family were at 'Fairness' just outside Comrie.

I cannot see an MIC for Alex nor in the roll for 1914/15 Star not British War/Victory Medal. (There is an Alexander Bell No. 1899/290271 who is 1/7 R.H.)

Have you got dates for these two extracts?

There's an Alex Bell #769 6th Black Watch in the Silver War Badge records on Ancestry - enlisted 20th April 1909 and discharged due to wounds on 22nd November 1916.

Mike, thanks. Yes both dates shown - the latter article December, 1915. 769 is showing as Allen Bell on the rolls so I'm sure that will be him.
