michaeldr Posted 11 January , 2019 Share Posted 11 January , 2019 (edited) Can anyone identify these trenches or positions please? Willow Tree and Pope's Seat They should be somewhere in the area covered by this map Westlake's “British Regiments at Gallipoli” mentions them on page 276 (1/1st West Somerset Yeomanry) quote - “Took over forward trenches – White House sector (18th November). Headquarters – Pope's Seat. Relieved by 1/1st Royal North Deveon Yeomanry (24th Nov) and to support line – Willow Tree, Cater's House, Tint's Corner. 'B' Squadron reinforced North Devons in firing line (28th Nov). Attached to 53rd Division. Willow Tree positions heavily shelled (29th Nov).” Thanks for any assistance here Michael Edited 11 January , 2019 by michaeldr
