I came across this sheet of service papers which gives the usual descriptions for  'Complexion,  Eyes, &  Hair'

This mans hair is described as 'Grizzled' which I had never heard of before, and I was going to ask members for their more sensible interpretations. But I thought I should Google it first - and blow me it is grey hair, or partly grey hair. This soldier was 42 at the time so that fits.

I have posted it out of interest anyway.

'Grizzled' is exactly how I would describe - for example - Jack Hawkins in films such as The Cruel Sea or The League of Gentlemen.

Mrs Broomfield just says I'm 'grey'.

I seem to recall that Mr Major was grey as well?   not that i'm putting you in that sort of category though!
