Marigold1 Posted 8 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 8 January , 2019 Dear Jonbeam, Many thanks. That is a very good start. I'm beginning to wonder if the war diary proper for the battalion for this period has been lost. Marigold
Admin kenf48 Posted 8 January , 2019 Admin Share Posted 8 January , 2019 The war diaries are in three parts, Two cover the period you mention 1st November 1914 - 30th September 1915 at TNA Reference WO95/3927/2 http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7356086 On Ancestry its in this section here I don't have time to look, sorry November 1915 - 1918 TNA Reference WO95/2427/2 http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7353842 here on Ancestry Ken

Marigold1 Posted 9 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 9 January , 2019 Dear Ken, That's great, so many thanks. Now the only part of the diary I cannot find is September and October 1915. Marigold
Robin Garrett Posted 9 January , 2019 Share Posted 9 January , 2019 September 1915 is the last month recorded in the National Archives document WO-95-3927-2, available for download for the princely sum of £3.5o from the NA.I have no doubt that the following moths will also be available there for an additional £3.50. Marigold1 Posted 9 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 9 January , 2019 Dear Robin, Many thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, although September 1915 of the diary is listed on the entry you mentioned in the Nat/ Archives catalogue somehow on Ancestry it is missing or has become separated. Either that, or there is an error on the Nat. Archives catalogue (which has been known to happen) and this section of the diary ends in August 1915 (as it does on Ancestry). October 1915 seems to be missing too. Marigold
