wwrsimon Posted 7 January , 2019 Share Posted 7 January , 2019 Hello everyone On March 6th 1919, Lt. F. O. Thornton was killed in DH-4 A7940 of 57 Sqn in Belgium. I understand from 'The Aerodrome' website that he was credited with 6 victories on DH-4s during WW1, but I can't find any details of these. Can anyone help with any details of these victories? There's a page dedicated to him here: http://www.traffordwardead.co.uk/index.php?sold_id=s%3A7%3A"23%2Csale"%3B&letter=&place=sale&war=I&soldier=Thornton+DFC and he's remembered at the Byker and Heaton Conservative Club in Newcastle-upon-Tyne: http://www.newmp.org.uk/detail.php?contentId=6679 Many thanks, Regards, Simon

Thornton's aircraft was DH4 'D8425' of 57 Sqn. Hope this helps. EDIT: Just realised that this Fokker seems to have been claimed by Capt WE Green in the same engagement.
