emam Posted 3 January , 2019 Posted 3 January , 2019 Hi, I am researching Bartholomew Elliott who enlisted into the Yorkshire Regiment, Private; 7/15030. He entered France with the 11th battalion, then the 10th. He later transferred to the 23rd Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Scottish) and became a Lance Corporal; 40761. He was discharged form the NF depot on a silver war badge (lost part of his leg). I have his medal records and swb record. I am trying to find out when he would have transferred to the NF and to find out more about where he served. There seemed to be a lot transferred at the same time, with corresponding numbers. Graham and John mentioned, that after the 1st July 1916 a lot of men were transferred into the battalion from unknown regiments, but that they were thought to be from the Yorkshires. Is it likely to be from this date, July 1916 that he moved to the NF. If so I can then follow the story from that day. Regards emam
Admin RussT Posted 3 January , 2019 Admin Posted 3 January , 2019 Service records show they were transferred to the 23/NF on 09/09/1916. Regards Russ
