Guest Posted 2 January , 2019 Share Posted 2 January , 2019 I have a local casualty, killed at Langemarck in 1917 serving 18th Londons, (London Irish) -though, in fact, attached to 14 RIR. He was previously in 112 TR battalion (ex-23 KRRC) but was in the ASC before that (Enlisted May 1915) There are a whole group of London Irish, attached to RIR who seem to have followed this progression of being weeded out from ASC to TR then to London Irish and onwards.Of the 8 London Irish casualties of that day with him, all are ex- ASC. Can any kindly colleague point me at any decent sources for these comb-outs for TR battalions from September 1916 onwards and, more generally on ASC itself. I find ASC a bit of blank page and the comb-outs even blanker.
