Ciaran Byrne Posted 2 January , 2019 Posted 2 January , 2019 Hello all, Recently I discovered I have another two relatives who served during WWI but both sadly died. One, was Bernard Byrne whom my father was named after. His unit mentioned on the memorial plaque is 6th Army Cycling Corps (which I understand was a replacement unit). Having checked the medal rolls it states his previous units served with were the following: 16th DCC 5040 Cpl. VI CCB 442, Connaught Rangers I'm assuming the first two entries are Cycling Corps references, can anybody shed any light as to what they actually mean? Thanks in advance!
