Brendan Hogan Posted 31 December , 2018 Posted 31 December , 2018 Hello, I'm doing some research on the 3rd Canadian Division during the Battle of Passchendaele (Oct-Nov 1917), and I'm having trouble reading to whom message 20 (top of the attached page) is addressed to and who it's from. I believe it's addressed to H.E.C. Sigs 9th and is from D.E.H. or D.E.N. Waterloo Farm. Are these the correct unit abbreviations and what do they stand for? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Brendan
Admin DavidOwen Posted 1 January , 2019 Admin Posted 1 January , 2019 Welcome to the forum Brendan. Strangely my go to Canadian abbreviations site cannot give you the answers you seek http://cmhs.ca/index.php so you need a Canadian or unit expert to assist. Hopefully one should be along presently to enlighten us. Regards David

My hunch is that it's a detachment designation for the signaling section. Brendan
Skipman Posted 1 January , 2019 Posted 1 January , 2019 Thanks Brendan. Just thought would have a look either side (as I'm sure you've done) for any clues. Definitely worth posting on the CEF Study Group Forum Will have another look when get a minute. Good luck with it. Just as a guess H.E.C. "Head of Electronic Communications"? Mike
