Major Harry Palgrave Raven (b 1875) was in RFA having been in Norfolk Regiment-or TF. He was a Lieutenant then Captain in WW1. I have failed to find his attestation and/or service numbers. Any help gratefully received. George
alf mcm Posted 31 December , 2018 Posted 31 December , 2018 George, His original commission, from Gent, to 2nd Lieutenant was in the 1st Norfolk R.G.A. {Volunteers} on 23rd April 1902. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/27427/page/2697 He wasn't commissioned from the ranks so is unlikely to have an attestation or service numbers. rflory Posted 31 December , 2018 Posted 31 December , 2018 Major Harry Palgrave Raven was a pre-war Territorial officer who was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge in the late 1890s. During 1915-1916 he served as Adjutant of 270 Brigade, RFA and during 1916-1917 as battery commander of 53 Battery, 2nd Brigade RFA.
