Would anyone have anything to comment on the photo attached please

Apart from the fact he was of the Leicester Tigers nothing else is known of the sitter

Except for the photographer Parker HERBERT Hinckley (Leicestershire)

(who also served in the RFC then RAF)

Any observations would be appreciated

He’s a Territorial in pre-war walking-out-dress.  The TF shoulder title is apparent, as is the special cap badge minus the more usual top scroll, ‘Hindoostan’, that at that time was authorised for the regular and special reserve battalions only.  He wears pristine service dress with a Slade Wallace pattern buff leather belt that’s been carefully whitened.  Most unusually he wears shoes rather than boots, which are almost certainly civilian type.

Many thanks

That is the confirmation I was seeking

Its unlikely he will be identified unless a family member claims him, I have posted to a Hinckley group on facebook in the hopes someone recognises him

Tall order but you never know

Much appreciate your input

Are the trousers civilian as well?

I’m not positive, but now you mention it I think that might be the case.  The trouser’s material density looks more smooth and the bottoms neither wide enough, nor finished in the normal style.
