Harper Posted 22 December , 2018 Posted 22 December , 2018 If you are interested in WW1 nurses, you might want to look at the Life Story of Amelia Miles on the Lives of the First World War: https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/5148727#timeline There are number of really good photos as well as a transcription of notes taken by Nurse Miles during the war. She nursed in Kent, France and Italy.
Admin DavidOwen Posted 22 December , 2018 Admin Posted 22 December , 2018 Thank you for the link, very interesting.
Harper Posted 22 December , 2018 Author Posted 22 December , 2018 While on the subject of nurses, I'll also offer up Staff Nurse Charlotte E Evans, AANS. She served in Egypt and while nursing at 14th AGH she became a friend of the Australian war artist George W Lambert. There is an image of a sketch by Lambert from her autograph book. https://livesofthefirstworldwar.org/lifestory/7294287#timeline
EAST YORKSHIRE Posted 26 December , 2018 Posted 26 December , 2018 Very interesting insight into something I never give a second thought to, these women (and men) performed a heroic task and quite rightly deserve the recognition they deserve, thankyou for sharing Harper, all the best, Ian.
