Hello All.

I have been sent this photograph of George Longworth of the RWF, who was captured at Mametz Wood. He is on the left lying down. It was sent from his POW camp in Germany and the sender wondered why the prisoners were wearing what look like police tunics. I am scratching my head on this one. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Jonathan

After a bit of research, they appear to be a few of the POWS who received POW uniforms, with the stripe on the pants, and numbers on the breast.

Many thanks!
