wulsten Posted 20 December , 2018 Share Posted 20 December , 2018 Has anyone completed any research on soldiers photographs etc from York, the York evening press is only online up to 1899, hence trying to get some idea of what images or info may be in the newspapers. York archives are 15 quid per half hour and 7 quid an image so trying to get some ideas of possible success Any help appreciated Geoff

I wonder if they get many takers on those terms? Are these charges for you to search yourself, or for it to be done by an employee? I thought my local archives were bad for asking £5 for a scan of images they had been gifted years ago by joe public. Good luck in your quest, Derek. wulsten Posted 20 December , 2018 Author Share Posted 20 December , 2018 no for the staff to check, however i am always a bit dubious of the actual time and knowledge a staff member would use to check for what i am after ?
wulsten Posted 15 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 15 January , 2019 (edited) Just for interest York minster holds a book of remeberance, a librarian with knowledge of the subject re-contacted me to inform. They have most soldiers photographs and can supply an image for 17.50 Edited 15 January , 2019 by wulsten
TTracer44 Posted 15 January , 2019 Share Posted 15 January , 2019 Hello wulsten I take it that 17:50 should have a pound sign in front of it, if so you will need to win the lottery to carry on this one. Den
