Yarnold66 Posted 17 December , 2018 Share Posted 17 December , 2018 I understand that the Derby Scheme ran from 16 October to 11 December 1915 and then 10 January until 1 March 1916. My uncle joined up around 7 January 1916 and so falls outside the period of the scheme. Am I correct in therefore describing him as a regular volunteer, not a Derby man? ss002d6252 Posted 17 December , 2018 Share Posted 17 December , 2018 Sounds like he was a volunteer. What was his name and service number ? Craig
Yarnold66 Posted 17 December , 2018 Author Share Posted 17 December , 2018 Pte Arthur Henry Powell, Royal Sussex Regiment (nos. 3806, G/17969). He was certainly persistent as he had already been rejected four times.
