I would have thought a section was too  small an entity to raise a concert party. I've found one at platoon level, but not a section. Always a first time though.

 

Can you say Craig if they are 1/8th or 2/8th?

 

Without seeing the whole picture (and I can understand why you may not wish to publish it whole for anyone to grab) I can't really say much more, other than to echo Marilyne's question, how do you know it is a concert party? Is that a backcloth behind the men? Are they in costume? Are they just fooling around off-duty?

A  bit late to the post. This picture shows my grandfather, Albert Mansell.  I have the photo on the wall (my cousin has an original and copied it for me). Also in the full picture are two of his close friends, Jack Traynor and 'Ponty' Bell.  All Craghead men in the 8 DLI.  It isnt a concert party, just a section photo, they're holding knives, entrenching tools and the like.
