Stephen Reinstadtler Posted 9 December , 2018 Share Posted 9 December , 2018 I have a series of aerial photos taken by an observer with 6 Squadron RFC in France between Feb 1916 and November 1917. This one is among them, but as it appears to be in German along the bottom I am a little puzzled. It looks very much like an airfield - does anyone know which one? AOK4 Posted 9 December , 2018 Share Posted 9 December , 2018 It says at the bottom where it is: southeast of Roveredo (Roveredo in Piano near Pordenone).
Stephen Reinstadtler Posted 9 December , 2018 Author Share Posted 9 December , 2018 Brilliant, thank you! I was reading the R as a B and getting nowhere. So it is the embryonic Aviano Nato base of today! This obviously needs moving to an Italian Front forum.
