Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 7 December , 2018 Share Posted 7 December , 2018 (edited) Dear Labour Corps aficionados, No Labour: No Battle. Indeed, and furthermore Labour Company officers were 'thin on the ground'... I am researching Capt (on his BWM and Victory)/Lieut (on his GSM S. PERSIA) Christopher William Lacey, IARO, and erstwhile Indian Service of Engineers (Irrigation). This latter was a part of the PWD (Public Works Department). Lacey was apparently at some time during 1918, Commandant of 101st Labour Company in South Persia, 1918/19... What I really need is a named Officer Group Photo of 101st Labour Company (and/or an Image of C. W. Lacey, who latterly lived at Ely, Cambs.): to be rewarded by a "Goodie" from my bookshelves, without fail! Kindest regards, Kim. Kimberley John Lindsay Posted 5 January , 2019 Author Share Posted 5 January , 2019 (edited) Dear All, No Labour, No Battle. No asking for an Officer group photo of 101st Labour Company, no getting such a group photo! Okay, I admit that the rear echelon 101st (Indian) Labour Company at Bandar Abbas in 1918-19 is somewhat exotic, even for Great War Forum cognoscenti - but one never knows... At least I can report that the said Lieutenant (substantive; previously T/Capt., IARO) Christopher William Lacey, was in the 1st XV Rugby team at Bedford School in 1909! Kindest regards, Kim.
