andy2014 Posted 4 December , 2018 Share Posted 4 December , 2018 Hi All Hope you are all well! I am looking into this chap after coming across 3 letters written from him in 1916 to a friend. Seems he never actually got to the front, about 5 miles and was sick, spent time in hospitals and was only in service a year before been discharged. This is all I can find on him? Any tips or advice if there is anything else? Would he have received any medals at all? I am slowly translating the letters and hand writting now... With Thanks Andy
Mark1959 Posted 4 December , 2018 Share Posted 4 December , 2018 The card shows he had a Silver War Badge. The Roll shows he served 13/11/15 to 27/10/16 and indicates he served overseas. searching....

IPT Posted 4 December , 2018 Share Posted 4 December , 2018 The LLT has 21st KRRC landing in France 4/5/1916. 139th FA had only arrived the day before, and from 8/5/1916 should have been somewhere between Hazebrouck and Bailleul, with 41st Division. MBrockway Posted 4 December , 2018 Share Posted 4 December , 2018 Although there's nothing specific on Dickenson, you will find Liz Moloney's extensive topic below very useful ... Mark
