There is another memorial in Portpatrick, which although not exactly WW1 is of that period. It is now at the junior school having been originally at the Railway station and commemorates a young girl from Paisley on a works outing by train who died I believe in 1917 at the station having been run over. The school were happy for me to have a look several yea s ago, it is on an exterior wall and as I recall has a pair of scissors as the girl and her colleagues worked in the clothing industry.

I was just writing in another thread that I did not have a great deal of time, if I saw a War Memorial then I photographed it but did not have a list!  Main priority was to get to Hush-Hush and photograph that along with having a look for a few wireless sites.  I keep meaning to get back down to that area, a book on Mulberry describes a MI5 observation post overlooking the area and would love to see if any trace.
