Remembered Today:

ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY

Recommended Posts

The vast majority of war diaries for RFA units were kept at the brigade level.  The war diary for 42nd Brigade RFA can be found at TNA under WO 95/ 1401.  On Ancestry you will have to look under 42 Brigade rather than for 41 Battery.

In Ancestry navigate through

'Military' - 'Histories' - 'UK, WWI War Diaries (France, Belgium and Germany), 1914-1920'

and then search with 'Keywords' "42 Brigade" and 'Regiment' "Royal Field Artillery"

you will get lots of results but you can View  any one and then step through.

Alternatively the War Diary is available from the National Archives for £3.50 by searching on WO 95/1401/1
