Terry Carter Posted 30 May , 2003 Share Posted 30 May , 2003 A friend of mine has described to me over the phone a brass shoulder title that can be seen on a WW1 period studio photograph of a soldier. It appears to be C.L.N.G. with a 'V' underneath. Could it belong to a Volunteer battalion? Can anyone help please? Cheers Terry
Alan Seymour Posted 30 May , 2003 Share Posted 30 May , 2003 Terry, This shoulder title belongs to the City of London National Guard. See page 167 and Plate 120 / 1855 of Ray Westlake's 'Collecting Metal Shoulder Titles' Alan Seymour
