Bert Heyvaert Posted 30 May , 2003 Share Posted 30 May , 2003 The first half of august, I will be doing archaeological field work on the WW1 battlefields together with other Flemish archaeology students. Regarding battlefield artefacts, my knowledge is not that good. I'm looking for some good reading about elementary weaponry etc. For instance, how to separate British rifle bullets and shells from French or German ones; difference between the rifles which were used... The site of the diggers is off course a good start, but I will need some published works to put in my report's bibliography also. Hope some of you can help. Regards, Bert. AOK4 Posted 30 May , 2003 Share Posted 30 May , 2003 Bert, I am willing to offer you my advice, I have more than 15 years of experience to determine battlefield finds and these experiences go back to 60 years of experience of my grandfather... Sometimes no books are available... Jan
