Six of the above were In From the Cold Project cases

-          Pte Cartwright died of gsw to neck received in action  (Volunteer: Joe Devereux)

-          Pte Chapman died post-discharge of epilepsy after fall in service (Volunteer: Tony Pringle)

-          Pte W.A.Hopkins died post-discharge of general paralysis of the insane (Volunteer: Steve John)

-          Pte W.H. Hopkins died post-discharge of heart disease (Volunteer: Steve John)

-          Pte Seymour died of stomach cancer (Volunteer: Gary Wood)

-          Pte Woodley died post-discharge of heart disease (Volunteer: Jon Walters)

Son of Fred and Mary Jane Cartwright, of Bristol.

 

NB.

Recent research has shown that Private Cartwright is buried here. The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

Commemoration moved to Bristol Avon View Cemetery.
