Liz in Eastbourne Posted 12 November , 2018 Share Posted 12 November , 2018 (edited) I have at long last launched ‘The Boys on the Arch', my new book for Eastbourne Local History Society. I’ve had a huge amount of help from members of the Great War Forum over the past five years – more, in the case of the naval casualties Macfarlane and Trumble, with whom I received a lot of early assistance from Martin Elliget. I have acknowledged all this help in the book and named several members, and also acknowledged the essential help of The Long Long Trail as a reference tool. Plus, of course, the editorial assistance of Siege Gunner. The book gives a more detailed story of each man than is usual in these accounts, and places them in the context of the war as a whole, with additional chapters on the schools and the memorial itself. I hope it's OK to post this news in this subforum - I'm emboldened by the fact that Alan has posted news of Sue's book here. Details as on the flyer below, also on the Publications subforum: may I stress that until 31 March 2019 (extended from the date on the flyer) we are selling the book for only £10 plus p&p, just pm me if you're interested.
