Remembered Today:

W/O Henry Christopher Steane DCM

My grandfather Henry Steane was awarded the DCM in 1918. In addition his life was saved by a bullet lodging in a wooden hairbrush in his back pack. I have the hairbrush and various items from his 21 year service in the regular army.  He lost his medals in the 1930s and we have never been able to trace them. My mother is now 97 and it would be good if we could find out if they are around anywhere. Any ideas where to start? I have his military record and index card.

Start by posting his number rank and regiment on here.  I did see a post on here recently about lost medals so someone might be able to help.
