Gardenerbill Posted 11 November , 2018 Share Posted 11 November , 2018 There was a very good turn out at this morning at my local war memorial in Sale Manchester for the open air service of remembrance and the sun came out.

Admin Michelle Young Posted 11 November , 2018 Admin Share Posted 11 November , 2018 As always I went to Castle Combe. A slightly larger turnout than usual, but the vicar conducted the same service that he's conducted ever since I have been going. Every year he adds a little something that is relevant. I'm glad it wasn't some huge parade, just the same as always. This year however I was holding Ernest Youngs death penny. Michelle
Owen D Posted 11 November , 2018 Share Posted 11 November , 2018 Swindon was heaving. My youngest was in the parade with the ACF. 30 odd years since I used to do it with the TA.
Bernard_Lewis Posted 11 November , 2018 Share Posted 11 November , 2018 Neath, south Wales. The cadets were later drenched by a torrential downpour but didn't flinch. Credit to them. Bernard
pudsey63 Posted 12 November , 2018 Share Posted 12 November , 2018 (edited) Petersfield, Hampshire. After torrential rain the sun was out by 10am. As every year, the Remembrance Service is outdoors in the Square, and then everyone moves down the High Street to the memorial for the Silence and Roll of Honour and laying of wreaths. mandy hall Posted 12 November , 2018 Share Posted 12 November , 2018 Chichester, West Sussex. Biggest crowd I have seen in years. The VC paving slab to Wilfrith Elstob was also unveiled during the service and also a carved sculpture. A slight shower during the service but otherwise sunny. In the evening, I was one of about 200 torch bearer’s for The Chichester Beacon on The Trundle an Iron Age Hill Fort, that overlooks the city of Chichester. We lined the rampart overlooking the beacon. The weather was also kind during the evening. Mandy
