Cenotaph

my gt gt uncle Robert Jones was KIA 1917  Passchendaele . He was from Salford Manchester. He joined the Rifle  brigade then ended up in KRRC. As you know they were based in Winchester. I know he’s commemorated on the  tyne cot memorial, but the question I’m asking is will he also have his name on a  cenotaph in Winchester or Salford?

many thanks M Jones

Hi,

The names on post War Local memorials - such I assume you mean by Cenotaphs in Winchester and Salford - were often submitted by family so unless he had family connections in Winchester he’s more likely remembered on Salford memorial.
