Remembered Today:

Picadilly Farm at Kemmel

Does anyone know the exact whereabouts of ‘Picadilly Farm’ which was apparently South East of Kemmel please? My grandfather’s Siege Battery was positioned there for the Battle of Messines, before moving Eastwards towards ‘Whitesheet’. Other posts on this forum suggest that there was a farm know as Piccadilly in the St. Eloi area, so there must have been at least two known as Piccadilly, as the one I’m trying to locate was definitely recorded as being “in a sunken lane SE of Kemmel”. I’m not sure if that means Mount Kemmel, or the village of Kemmel itself.

I found this map on another thread. It shows "Piccadilly Farm?" just south of St.Eloi.

Thanks for this. There must have been two places known by this name as the battery was sited at a Piccadilly Farm just SE of Kemmel.
