Casualty card - John M S Macpherson

Hi

I'm just looking for some help with this casualty card- I can't fully read the blue writing at the end and therefore not sure what it means?

I know he was injured in his arm (?shot) and a German surgeon saved it from amputation.

Many thanks

Stuart

You might have seen this already but here is his ICRC card which doesn't give the normal links to further sheets. But These cards are muddled up so you may be wise to search further. PS look at the back of the card.

Thanks again Charlie, I was searching for this a while back but the website wasn't finding him at all!

I found some further casualty cards that confirm GSW to right elbow.

I'll look further at this line too!

Thanks again, seeing their DOB reminds us they were teenagers! Hard to understand what they must have felt going through this!

Ps John (Jack) was my Mum's Grandad and lived long enough to see me wear the Macpherson kilt at my aunties wedding in the mid-eighties!!

Suprising how long some lived after what they went through.

The annotation on the casualty card is 'gunshot wound right arm'

There are two further ICRC cards referred to above, which may show him as well - PA40589 and PA38004 which you can download from the ICRC site
