Morning all. Can anyone give me any information on a ‘D Burns’ RAF? He was a Flight or flying officer and his service number was 161094.

Any info would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Morning!

I presume he served around the ww1 era?

Can't find him under name and number on the 1918 muster roll for the RAF

There are a few D Burns but none appear to be officers

There is a DC Burn (no number listed that I can see through the watermark) http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8197642

Probably needs an expert!

Hi David. I’ve got his number down to an April / May intake in 1918.

Many thanks

Hi

161094 David Burns served during WW2.

Search the London Gazette using just the service number.

RAF number 161094 during WW1 belonged to James Henry Ratcliffe

Ah, that would explain my trouble researching him. Case closed, many thanks.
