What I have so far Born: Dunsdale , North Yorkshire Entered France on 24th Sept 1915 aged 18 On 17th Sept 1916 it is believed that he was part of a bomb carrying party near Bazentin-Le-Grand which came under German Artillery fire. He is listed on The Thiepval Memorial. I am aware that OR's are not normally named in the diaries and there are 2 OR killed on that date
RaySearching Posted 2 November , 2018 Posted 2 November , 2018 Pte 25020 J.E.Hart is mentioned in John Sheen's "With Bayonets Fixed" (12th 13th Bn of the DLI) you will find the circumstances surrounding his death there There is also a faded photo of James in uniform on a family tree on Ancestry along with other details Ray
