kylet183 Posted 1 November , 2018 Posted 1 November , 2018 Hi all, i was wondering if anyone could help me date this pouch? The only info i can find is that WW1 models had the pressed brass loop and later version had a steel rectangle? Please correct me if i am wrong! Thanks!
peregrinvs Posted 1 November , 2018 Posted 1 November , 2018 The smooth snap suggests to me it's a post-WWII example. The WWI and WWII examples I've seen had a pebbled snap. BTW. The 'Frog, cutter, wire, folding' was used with 1908 Pattern webbing, but isn't a formal component of that set. The frog was used all the way up to the PLCE era in the 1990's.
uncle bill Posted 17 November , 2018 Posted 17 November , 2018 (edited) Hello, all the Great War vintage ones that I have seen, or owned, including the one I have kept, have the 1917 date. Regards Edited 17 November , 2018 by uncle bill
