Can anyone help me with C.S.M Goodey's D.C.M citation. I could not find it on a quick trawl through the L.G - could it be Boer War ? He died 5.12.17 and is buried at Etaples.

Interestingly there is another Arthur Goodey who won the D.C.M in 1918 and who also appears to be from the Battersea/Clapham area.

The following is the DCM citation you are seeking

Gazette Issue 30636, 16 April 1918, page 16

241208 Sjt Goodey A. T. S/Staffs Regt

For conspicuous gallentry and devotion to duty by his fearless courage and resource on wiring and covering parties, as well as on patrol, he has invariably set a splendid example to his men.
