And it probably tells you what's inside on the label.

There are lists somewhere , of what drugs were part of the RAMC bags.

Might be worthwhile cross-checking those.

Looks as though it ends in -ITE' ?

It could be a vial, as it hat possible glass seals at each end and glass started to haze...

Oh then it’s probably a medical vial from around that era maybe.

Probably wartime era if matched correctly to another.

I think they most commonly held iodine. I found one in the garden of my French house about 12 years ago. My village was a base for the Ox and Bucks when out of the line.

Iodine crystals in alcohol would be a brown liquid.

A much smaller Iodine ampule, with 1914 dated tube. They probably came in a variety of shapes and sizes.

A pair of 1917 bandages, one British one German also.20190130_200304.jpg.daed0525ed7fd970a2622ff08a37d875.jpg20190130_200407.jpg.f45f67f41718681c96e76db2b1399343.jpg

AA battery is for scale.... I don't think it is period.

Looking at the OP picture I think the last part of the lettering does say Iodine though a bit of mud makes the O look like a Q.
