I notice a interesting articale on the Germans at Gallipoli and in Palestine written by them. One part mentioned this

 

"Taberiye Grup Karargâh komutanı. Samah’da komutayı üstlendi. 24 Eylül 1918 de güneyden gelen İngilizlerle muharebeye tutuştu. Dar Samah yolunu savunmak için elindeki kuvvet 120 Alman ve 80 Türk askeriydi. Ayrıca 8 makineli tüfeği ve bir de topu vardı. 25 Eylül günü saat 04’de bir süvari tugayı gücündeki İngilizler hücüm ettiler. Bir buçuk saat süren kahramanca savunmadan sonra Kaiserling müfrezesi tamamen yok edildi veya esir düştü. (Sanders age.s.354)"

Translated

"Commander Group Commander. He took command of Samah. On 24 September 1918, he fought with the British from the south. The force in his hands to defend the path of Dar Samah was 120 German and 80 Turkish soldiers. There were also 8 machine guns and a cannon. On September 25, the British attacked a cavalry brigade. After an hour and a half of heroic defense, the Kaiserling platoon was completely destroyed or captured. (Sanders age.s.354

 

Capt Keizerling or Kaiserling is reported in command of the German  & Ottoman forces at Semakh, when Australian Light Horse of the 4 LH Bde charged Semakh and the railway station by the 11 ALHR and part of the 12 ALHR.

 

We have a lot on this fight but never that from the German/Ottoman side so finding a name was interesting to me, but again I could not find any details on Capt Keizerling or Kaiserling or what unit he commanded?

 

Do we know any details on these Germans who defended the area that day?
