Snowyred Posted 28 October , 2018 Posted 28 October , 2018 Is there anywhere or does anyone have access to dock workers records of employment. Percy Edwin Sharplin was a crane attendant pre first world war before joining the Royal Navy during the war, and then finally returning to the docks after serving his country.
seaJane Posted 28 October , 2018 Posted 28 October , 2018 I don't know whether you've seen his record of service? http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D6994344 If that doesn't include his dockyard work, then http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/royal-naval-dockyard-staff/ or http://thedockyard.co.uk/the-collections/library-reading-room/ or http://www.sole.org.uk/Naval_Dockyards.htm may give you some guidance.
