rolt968 Posted 28 October , 2018 Share Posted 28 October , 2018 In the soldier's record of Thomas Rendall their are two medical abbreviations which I can't decode: J.C.F. r (or I.C.F. r) later when he was in hospital it appears as Inflamed Foot Right. D.A.H. - about a month after having 'flu. Can anyone explain them, please? Thank you. RM

seaJane Posted 28 October , 2018 Share Posted 28 October , 2018 Wiki suggests Diffuse alveolar haemorrhage (bleeding in the lungs) for DAH but I think Craig is more likely to be correct.

Many thanks! Both of those are very interesting. Following the Inflammation of the right foot for which he was invalided to the UK and was in hospital in Dundee, he seems to have been sent to Brechin Infirmary (to recuperate?). However while there he was diagnosed with angina pectoris and then cardiac neurosis(?). He was returned to service about three weeks after these diagnoses. The D.A.H. was about ten months earlier.
