Neuville Sant Vaast Tunnel

This had been closed for many years and so drove past every time in France, occasionally lucky and the door had been open and with torch in hand went inside... not this year though .... fortunately it is open again upon request.. it’s the usual French way of advertising.

Didnt get a chance to go in as I assumed it was still closed and hoped it was unofficially open so I had my torch... if only I had known I would have booked... as it’s amazing by torch light and huge ... now I know it’s open again I will be booking next year..

By the way there’s a fabulous museum opposite... no longer selling battlefield  artifacts but worth the visit... plus the huge German and French cemetery nearby..

good Morning,

I had the opportunity to depart in the early years 90 with the former owner.

About the museum, to recommend.
Here are his coordinates:

In addition, the owner has a second one in Lorette:

I agree both museums fabulous..

the one @ Lorette has a preserved battlefield showing French lines before they moved towards Vimy.... and the price to enter the battlefield.... 1 Euro!!!!!.... stands adjacent to the huge French cemetery and church.

Those 2 museums and nearby massive graveyards and now the re opened souterrain would make a great start before moving to Vimy to finish the day..
