stanleyrbl Posted 27 October , 2018 Author Posted 27 October , 2018 This undated photograph is believed to be of members of the 7th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, at far right smoking a cigarette is Private 17714 THOMAS BARRETT of Coseley, Staffs. Following his actions on 27th July 1917 he was posthumously awarded the VICTORIA CROSS, Following the action he returned to his own lines where he was killed by an exploding shell. The photograph is obviously dated prior to the date of the action. Any South Staffs experts can name others in the photograph and possible date the same. Many Thanks
Jim Hastings Posted 27 October , 2018 Posted 27 October , 2018 That's a great photograph, ironically had just finished reading about Barratt when came on forum and saw your post. Very good photo of him, thank you for sharing. Sorry I cannot add more. Jim
