Hi,

 Help please, I'm confused.

On the rear of this card is written,  -  "William & Frank Darby. 1916.    Frank  Died 20.01. 1931"   The card is by "Solomons" of Watford.

The Lieutenant (William?) has Middlesex Reg. collar badge and buttons, and 2 overseas service chevrons. He appears to have 1915 star trio ribbons.

William Jaffa Darby, Pte. PS/1799 16th Middlesex was commissioned - MIC has 12th and 17th Nov.1920; It also shows a Watford address and entitlement to BW&VM only.

"Frank" right? appears to have a Somerset shoulder title with a L.I. horn above, and B.W & V.M. ribbons on show. As both men wear award ribbons the photo is 1920+

There are MIC's for 13 men named  "Frank Darby"  -  3 x R.A,  3 x R.E,  an A.S.C, Wilts, and a Labour Corps man ; none of theses shoulder titles would fit.  That leaves 1 x R.Warwickshire and 2 x Queens. These look to have not enough, or too many letters. That leaves Somerset L.I man - 16982,  who first went to France 18/8/1915 and was posted to Z-Res. 6/5/1919.  This Frank would have been awarded a Trio.

There is a death record for a Frank John in Watford 1932.   (  B. 1901.  C.1911 - Brother, William John. ).

Any help would be much appreciated.
