Hi Linda,

Behind the Genealogical sites is most of his military records, with his Officer File being at the National Archives (a dropped E in the middle name).

He appears as a 2nd Lieutenant on a 1902 Army List, Mobilised to France 12th May 1915, wounded 1916 for Shell Shock whilst with the 57th Field Company RE, Mentioned in Dispatches in 1917, DSO in the New Years Honours in Jan 1917.

His Royal Engineer expertise seems to be in the Railways too.
