Admin DavidOwen Posted 22 October , 2018 Admin Share Posted 22 October , 2018 Hi It was Gazetted here https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/30897/supplement/10774 on 13th September 1918 (award heading here https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/30897/supplement/10774) 30028 Pte. N. Squires, E. York. R. (Hetton -le-Hole). Doesn't make a reference to any particular action - perhaps consult the relevant war diary to see if anything is mentioned ? You may get lucky. jonbem Posted 22 October , 2018 Share Posted 22 October , 2018 You might need to look at more than one diary, the 16536 service number is against the 14-15 star and noted as 6th Btn. Therefore given the date I would look at 1st E.York diary HERE on National Archives, or HERE on Ancestry for April 1918 and scroll through as needed. Regiment or Corps:East Yorkshire Regiment Regimental Number:30028 Previous Units:6th, 9th Yorks. Regt: Pte. 16536, 1st E. York. R. 30028
