Hi,

 I recently purchased this pack.

Is it Great War issue?

Does anyone have an idea of manufacturer from the stamp.

The reinforcing rivets in the straps on the back are a good indication this is an early pack. Quite probably brought out of store years latter and used who knows when, before becoming the preserve of a schoolboy is my best guess. I too had one for school when I was about 10!

Thanks again David,

It looks like it is numbered and named to 2058519 L/Cpl. C. Owen, listed as seriously wounded in 1940.

I had a WW2 dated large pack at college.

The 8  RE 326 is stamped in a style and font I have seen on other WW1 period webbing not definitive on its own but alongside the rivetted straps I would say a pre WW2 item at very least
